Directions to El Dorado Estates and El Dorado Resorts at Playa Dorada.

Playa Dorada is located 20 minutes east of Puerto Penasco on the beautiful “La Pinta’ peninsula and just west of the area’s newest five-star resort, the Mayan Palace.

From north of Puerto Penasco:

  • Turn east at the Caborca Interchange.
  • Travel 8 miles and merge with the eastbound highway to Caborca.

From Puerto Penasco:

  • Traveling south through town on the main road, Blvd Bonita Juarez, turn left at the municipal building onto Blvd Freemont  (There is a traffic light at the intersection).
  • Stay to the right as it merges with the highway from the Caborca interchange.

Continue to the 23 KM marker or 17 miles on the highway to Caborca, until the Miramar turn off. Watch for an electrical power sub station on the south side of the road and two large concrete columns to the right.  Turn right towards the beach between the columns.  You are now on the “Miramar Road”.

Follow this road for about 4.5 miles.  As you approach the sand dunes, the main road will turn to the left to go to Miramar and the Mayan Place. Follow this left turn, then turn right and proceed up over the dune to the Playa Dorada entry.
